The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has disclosed the personal and spiritual reasons behind his decision to stop employing female secretaries.

Dependable NG reports that Pastor Adeboye said his decision was driven by a desire to avoid any situation that could lead to temptation, a policy he adopted after relocating to the church’s campground.

Addressing his members at the Redemption camp on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the clergyman explained that he opted against female secretaries because he prioritized personal discipline and needed to set firm boundaries. This was crucial because his pastoral duties often required him to work late into the night.

Pastor Adeboye said: “From the moment I got to this campground, from the moment I got to a stage where at night I still have to work, I ceased to have a female secretary, some people thought it was gender discrimination.”

He provided a frank explanation for the precaution: “I know myself. I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers, being left alone at night with the opposite sex.”

Despite this policy, Adeboye spoke warmly about his former secretary at Ebute-Metta, describing her as a committed believer and noting that her conduct had always remained exemplary.
