Macron Pledges French Solidarity in Nigeria’s Anti-Terror Fight

French President Emmanuel Macron has revealed the details of a phone conversation held with his Nigerian counterpart, President Bola Tinubu, stating that France is ready to strengthen its partnership and support in confronting security threats in West Africa.

Dependable NG reports that the conversation primarily centered on the persistent threat of terrorism plaguing Northern Nigeria. Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), Macron affirmed that the French people stand firmly in solidarity with the African nation during these challenging times.

Macron wrote: “I spoke with President Tinubu of Nigeria, @officialABAT. I conveyed France’s solidarity in the face of the various security challenges, particularly the terrorist threat in the North.”

The French President added that following President Tinubu’s request, they will intensify their collaboration. “At his request, we will strengthen our partnership with the authorities and our support for the affected populations,” Macron stated.

He concluded his message with a powerful call for global engagement on the issue, making it clear that the fight against terrorists is a collective responsibility that demands immediate action from the international community.
