Fatal Accident: Four Die as Minibus Rams into Truck in Ogun

An early morning tragedy occurred on Monday at Alagbon along the Atan-Owode road in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, where a fatal accident claimed the lives of four persons and left three others severely injured. The accident, which took place around 7:20 a.m., involved a collision between a Suzuki minibus and a stationary truck.

Dependable NG reports that the collision involved a Suzuki minibus, registered as KTU 874 YJ, which rammed into the rear of a white Sinotruck that had no number plate. The cement laden truck was reportedly faulty and had been parked on the road without any caution or warning signs.

According to the Spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, a total of eleven people were involved in the accident: nine females and two males.

The four confirmed fatalities include one male adult, two female adults, and one female teenager. The remaining three injured victims were quickly rushed to Owode General Hospital for medical attention. TRACE operatives were deployed to the scene to manage the resultant traffic, while the injured had been taken to the General Hospital, Idiroko, by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) before TRACE’s arrival.

The primary cause of the accident was attributed to the faulty truck being parked illegally on the road without proper caution or signage. The corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary.
