Carragher Slams Salah: “You’re the Guy Who Failed at Chelsea”
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has escalated his public war of words with Mohamed Salah, harshly claiming that before the Egyptian arrived at Anfield, he was widely regarded as the player who had “failed at Chelsea.”
Dependable NG reports that Carragher was responding to Salah’s latest explosive interview, in which the forward reportedly claimed that the club was unfairly singling him out for criticism over their recent poor run of form. Salah also admitted in the interview that his relationship with new manager Arne Slot is now broken, a comment that led to his immediate exclusion from Liverpool’s squad for their upcoming Champions League clash on Tuesday.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher did not hold back, directing his criticism at both Salah and his agent.
“One thing I want to remind Mohamed Salah and maybe his agent. Before he came to Liverpool, Mo Salah was known as the guy who failed at Chelsea. That’s just a fact,” Carragher stated.
The former defender continued his argument by referencing Salah’s international career: “He’s also the greatest player the country has ever had. Egypt in the AFCON are the most successful nation. But Salah has not won AFCON.”
Carragher concluded that Salah needs to remember his roots and the support he received at Liverpool: “That’s not me trying to put him down as a player, but what it tells Mo Salah and his agent it’s not about an individual. You were not a star when you came into Liverpool… When he’s talking there, it’s all about ‘me, me and me.’”
