AGN Reveals Mechanical Brake Failure Caused Accident Involving New President Abubakar Yakubu
The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has officially disclosed the cause of the recent car accident involving its newly elected president, Abubakar Yakubu.
Dependable NG reports that the AGN, via a statement shared by its outgoing president, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the details of the incident on Thursday. Rollas stated that Yakubu cooperated fully with both law enforcement and emergency responders, acting as a law-abiding citizen immediately following the crash.
The statement further revealed that the fatal accident was caused by an “unexpected mechanical brake failure,” tragically claiming the life of a child and injuring the child’s mother, who is currently receiving necessary medical care.
Abubakar Yakubu was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, after being involved in the tragic incident in Surulere. The accident occurred less than 72 hours after he was elected as the AGN’s president on Saturday, December 6, 2025, where he defeated actress Rita Daniels to secure the position.
