Actor Stanley Ontop Released From Police Detention

Popular Nigerian filmmaker and activist, Stanley Ajemba, widely known by his stage name Stanley Ontop, has finally been released from police detention after a short stint in custody.

Dependable NG reports that Stanley was arrested on Tuesday and subsequently detained at the Delta State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Asaba. His detention was prompted by a defamation petition filed against him by his colleague, actress Queeneth Hilbeth.

The news of the actor’s arrest quickly sparked criticism across social media, with many celebrities and fans actively calling for his immediate release. It was gathered that the filmmaker was released on Wednesday evening after spending one night in detention.

Announcing his freedom in a video shared on his Instagram page, Stanley passionately celebrated his release, shouting, “We are out, we’re out, we’re out! The struggle continues, no leave no transfer. Aluta continua. Thanks to my team and family. The love was massive meenh.”
