Accord Party Set to Declare Adeleke Sole Governorship Candidate for Osun 2026
The Accord Party in Osun State is officially set to declare Governor Ademola Adeleke as its sole candidate for the Osun 2026 governorship election.
Dependable NG reports that the declaration is scheduled to take place at the Osun State Accord Party governorship primary today, Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
The information was disclosed by the Osun State party chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, in Osogbo on Wednesday. Pastor Akande confirmed that Governor Adeleke is the party’s only candidate for the primary election.
He added that about 150 delegates are expected to partake in the primary, stating: “Governor Ademola Adeleke is our sole candidate for the 2026 governorship election. We are declaring him today. As you know, he formally defected to our party in November and we publicly announced him on Tuesday.” Akande further clarified that the delegates were five, drawn from each of the 30 local government areas of the state.
The party had earlier reported that Governor Adeleke had announced the Accord Party as his new political platform at the Banquet Hall of the Government House on Tuesday, confirming his intention to seek re-election in 2026. Adeleke stated that he had formally joined the Accord Party on November 6, 2025, following weeks of consultation and deliberations with stakeholders and opinion leaders.
