Wizkid Taps Asake to Perform Favorite Song ‘Remember’ at His Future Wedding

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has shared his intention to have his colleague, Asake, perform at his wedding ceremony whenever it takes place.

Dependable NG reports that Wizkid made this revelation directly to Asake during a recent joint appearance on Apple Music radio, where they were interviewed alongside DJ Tunez. The Starboy boss revealed that while Asake’s hit “Omo Ope” first turned him into a fan, the track he wants featured on his big day is “Remember.”

Wizkid praised Asake’s exceptional talent, calling him one of the most gifted vocalists in Africa and the world at large, and stating that the “Lonely At The Top” crooner is a genuine blessing to African music. He said, “‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is ‘Remember’, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.” He added, “You [Asake] are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”

Wizkid is currently in a romantic relationship with his longtime partner and manager, Jada P, with whom he has three children—two sons and a daughter. The superstar musician has been playfully teasing the possibility of his wedding for years, keeping fans in anticipation of the big event where Asake is now booked for a special performance.
