Kebbi Governor Thanks Tinubu for Rescue

The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The crucial meeting focused on the state’s persistent security challenges and key development initiatives currently underway.

In a statement released by the Governor’s Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado, Governor Idris expressed his deep gratitude to the President. He specifically thanked him for the swift and decisive action by federal security forces that led to the safe release of the twenty-four schoolgirls.

The girls had been tragically abducted by armed bandits from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCS), Maga, just last week.

During the meeting, Governor Idris provided the President with a detailed security briefing on the ongoing issues plaguing parts of Kebbi State. He took the time to outline specific measures his administration is currently implementing to protect the lives and property of all citizens.

Beyond security, the discussion also covered priority development projects across three crucial sectors. The Governor highlighted initiatives in agriculture, education, and healthcare, all aimed at boosting the overall stability and progress of the state.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to planning proactive steps and enhanced federal collaboration to combat insecurity. This includes strengthening intelligence sharing capabilities, developing rapid response strategies, and coordinating joint operations between state and federal security agencies.

President Tinubu commended Governor Idris for his proactive and hands-on approach to security management. The President assured the Governor of the continued and unwavering support of the Federal Government to help accelerate progress across Kebbi State.

Governor Idris was accompanied to the Presidential Villa for the high-level meeting by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
